Today the Free for 1000 campaign crossed the finish line in its goal of being able to free 1000 slaves in Sudan. Mark Girguis has worked tirelessly to achieve this goal. Without his work 100s of people would still be in bondage yearning to be free.
Mark’s campaign was able to free slaves such as Ahok Deng Tong who was freed this past summer after 31 years in captivity. She was beaten and raped by her master throughout her time in captivity. Ahok was able to return to South Sudan with help from CSI’s network of slave retrievers.
